How to get a Library Card

Cochrane Public Library members can access the library's various programs and services. Members also have access to thousands of library materials from across the province using our interlibrary loan system.

To get a library card, members of the public will need to come to the library and complete the registration form. Photo ID and valid proof of address is required at the time of registration. Examples include:

  • driver's license
  • rental agreement
  • utility statement

We serve residents living within the City limits of Cochrane and Rocky View County taxpayers that include Elbow Valley, Springbank, Bearspaw, Bragg Creek, Waiparous, and Redwood Meadows. 

We do charge an Annual Library Membership fee effective May 1, 2015 however, if you are experiencing financial difficulty we will happily waive your membership fee:

  • Adult: (18+) $20
  • Child: Free (requires parent/guardian signature)
  • Youth: (13-17) Free (requires parent/guardian signature)
  • Student: (18+) $15
  • Senior: (55+) $15
  • Family - 1 adult and any number of children under one roof: $20
  • Family - 2 adults and any number of children under one roof: $25
  • Institutional - Free 

Adult/Family card required for all equipment checkouts with the exception of board games and puzzles.
