How to volunteer at the Cochrane Public Library

1. Read through volunteer roles currently open

The Library is currently looking for people to help us keep the Penelope West Reading Garden blooming all spring and summer.

 

Program Goals:
Provide public access to green space

Provide a green space for programming

Volunteer Contributions:
Daily watering

On-going weeding

In the spring volunteers will have the opportunity to plant seeds and transplants

In the fall volunteer will have the opportunity to help with garden clean up

Volunteer Qualifications:
Good listening and communication skills

Willingness to get dirty in the garden

Gardening know-how, not necessary but considered an asset

2. Submit a volunteer application
3. Receive an email/phone call confirming your interest

4. Participate in a scheduled volunteer orientation session 

Volunteer orientation sessions will be scheduled throughout May and June for Garden Volunteers. The session will cover:

  • Volunteer safety 
  • Commitment expectations
