Cochrane Public Library members can access the library's various programs and services. Members also have access to thousands of library materials from across the province using our interlibrary loan system.

To get a library card, members of the public will need to come to the library and complete the registration form. Photo ID and valid proof of address is required at the time of registration. Examples include:

  • driver's license
  • rental agreement
  • utility statement

We serve residents living within the City limits of Cochrane and Rocky View County taxpayers that include Elbow Valley, Springbank, Bearspaw, Bragg Creek, Waiparous, and Redwood Meadows. 

As of January 11, 2023, Cochrane Public Library cards are FREE!

Adult/Family card required for all equipment checkouts with the exception of board games and puzzles.

Child/Youth card (0-17) require a parent/guardian signature to sign up for a card

You can search for books, DVDs, audiobooks, video games, and more using the online library catalogue, called TRACpac.  

Visit the library catalogue at tracpac.ab.ca and login using the barcode number from your library card and your PIN. 

Your PIN/Password is the last 4 digits of your phone number, unless you have changed it. If you are unsure of your PIN/Password, click the I forgot my password link in TRACpac, or give us a call.

Items may be renewed up to two times, as long as there are no holds on the items. Items may be renewed in person, by phone, or online.

The Library will call you right away if you forgot to return a particular item. 

Do not repair books with tape as the acid is bad for books. We have staff on hand that take care of mending of materials. Please inform staff of the damage to an item so we can assess it. If the Item is beyond repair or lost, replacement charges will apply.

No. In accordance with the Cochrane Public Library's Code of Conduct, all children under the age of 12 must have an adult in the building with them at all times.
