Julia Lutchman - Owner of Found Bookstore

Julia Lutchman is the proud owner and operator of Found Books & Shop in Cochrane, Alberta, a cozy and community-focused bookstore that has been welcoming visitors since around August 2020. Julia has called Cochrane home since 2006, is married with 3 kids that have all gone or are going through the Tri-City school system.

Julia's journey to becoming a bookstore owner is a tale of unexpected turns. With a scholarly background in sociology and criminology, and a career in travel management, she took a bold leap in the fall of 2019 to open her own travel agency. However, the arrival of COVID brought unforeseen changes, leading her to transform her boutique travel agency into a bookstore.

Books have always held a special place in Julia's heart, sparking her love for travel from a young age and opening up worlds she had only dreamed about. In 2022, Found Books moved to a new location, expanding to include a coffee and wine bar, a cozy sitting area, and a space for hosting community events throughout the year. Julia quickly realized that owning a bookstore is about much more than retail—it’s about fostering a community hub where people can connect and share their love for stories. The journey has been incredible, and Julia eagerly looks forward to what the future holds for her "little bookshop that could".
