TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests, and all abilities. This free program is co-created and delivered by more than 2,000 public libraries across Canada. It celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories. It’s designed to inspire kids to explore the fun of reading their way – the key to building a lifelong love of reading.
The Teen Summer Library Experience (TSLE) is an online, summer-long program for teens and tweens. Anyone between the ages of 8 and 17 is welcome to participate. The TSLE consists of a variety of biweekly challenges that allow participants to earn points towards a grand prize, as well as a chance to win individual prizes for each challenge. Participants will also be entered into a weekly book draw.
Get ready for a summer full of creating, reading, and winning great prizes!

Kids (and their caregivers) can participate anytime, anywhere – at local public libraries across Canada as well as at home, online, on the road or wherever their summer takes them.
Participants explore recommended reads; track their own reading; connect and share with others across the country; read books online; join in activities; collect reading incentives; write jokes, stories and book reviews, and more. There are great resources for kids with print disabilities as well as for pre-readers and their families.
It’s big – and getting bigger every year! A recent tally of TD Summer Reading Club numbers shows the significant impact of the program: 718,399 participants in more than 38,000 programs that were delivered by 2061 library branches across the country.
Being a part of the Summer Reading Club is easy! Simply register in person, online, or over the phone and then come to the Library to collect your official TD Summer Reading Club notebook and stickers!
Record any and all reading you do over the summer in your notebook with entries such as: read for 10 minutes, read 1 chapter, listened to an audiobook, read with my parents, etc.
Once a page in your notebook has been filled up (minimum of 5 lines per page), you've earned a prize! Come to the Library and dig through our treasure chest!
Fill up the entire notebook (about 6 pages) and you can enter your name into our grand prize draw! Get another notebook and keep reading and getting prizes!
Stay tuned for a list of prizes as they keep getting better and better!
