Cochrane Public Library's Response to COVID-19

NEW: March 1 easing of restrictions

The following are mandatory public health measures that the Cochrane Public Library will be following:

1) Masks are now optional while using the library. Masks will be made available for those who want / need one.

2) Social distancing is still recommended

3) Eating and drinking is once again allowed in the library

4) Capacity limits are now lifted but we are still recommending a limit of 10 patrons inside the children's room to maintain social distancing

5) Patrons who are experiencing core symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, sore throat, loss of taste or smell) or have tested positive for COVID-19 are asked NOT to enter the building or attend programs. Curbside service is still being offered and we are also still running our Personal Book Shopper program for those who need help finding books.

CURB SIDE PICK-UP HOURS:

Monday - Thursday:  10:00am - 8:00pm 

Friday - Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Sundays: 12:00pm - 5:00pm

OPERATING HOURS:

Monday - Thursday:  10:00am - 8:00pm 

Friday - Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Sundays: 12:00pm - 5:00pm

SAFETY MEASURES

Here is how the Library is still working hard to keep our patrons and staff safe:

-Hand sanitizer will remain at the front door and around the building to use

-Disinfecting surfaces will continue

-Computers will remain distanced and with a 1 hour time limit

-Social distancing is recommended. Please social distance with Library staff and Library visitors who are not with your group.

-Curbside service and Personal Book Shopper program is still being offered. Please do not come into the building if you are feeling sick or are exhibiting symptoms.

COMPUTER USE

-Computers will be available to use but limited to 1 hour. 

RETURNING ITEMS AND DUE DATES:

Our book drops are now open for you to return your checked out library items.

  • Please return all physical items (tools, outdoor equipment, games, telescopes, etc.) via curb side pickup (call 403-932-3732). DO NOT return through the book chute.

PLACING ITEMS ON HOLD FOR PICK-UP:

Place items on hold and pick them up when you're notified that they are ready. 

Pickup is available: Monday-Thursday 10.00am-8.00pm | Friday-Saturday 10.00am-6.00pm | Sunday 12.00pm-5.00pm 

What you need to know:

  • Place your holds online at tracpac.ab.ca
  • Need help deciding what you want? Call us for help (403-932-4353).
  • Wait until you are notified through the holds system that your items are ready for pick up.
